BOOKING & PAYMENT
HOW DO I BOOK A SURF CAMP?
Pick a package on the packages page, then message us on WhatsApp or email with your dates. We'll confirm availability, hold your spot and send booking details — usually within a few hours.
IS A DEPOSIT REQUIRED TO CONFIRM?
Yes — a 30% deposit secures your dates and room. The balance is due on arrival and can be paid in cash (IDR) or by bank transfer. Your spot isn't locked until the deposit lands.
WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?
Bank transfer and popular e-wallets for the deposit; cash in Indonesian Rupiah, card or transfer for the balance at camp. Prices are quoted in IDR — check your bank's rate for international transfers.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
Cancel 14+ days before arrival and your deposit is fully transferable to another date within 12 months. Inside 14 days the deposit is non-refundable, but we'll always do our best to reschedule you if plans change.
CAN I BOOK FOR A GROUP OR PRIVATE TRIP?
Absolutely. We host friends, families and small groups, and can arrange private coaching or a full-camp buyout. Message us with your group size and we'll build a custom quote.

SURFING & LESSONS
I'VE NEVER SURFED — IS THIS FOR ME?
Completely. Most of our guests are first-timers. Gerupuk has gentle, forgiving waves ideal for learning, and every camp starts with a theory session on the sand before you touch the water. Most beginners are standing up on day one.
WHAT'S THE COACH-TO-GUEST RATIO?
A maximum of three surfers per coach in the water, so you always get eyes on your paddle, positioning and pop-up. Advanced surfers can request one-on-one sessions to fine-tune technique.
ARE SURFBOARDS AND GEAR INCLUDED?
Yes — soft-tops, foamies and performance boards, plus leashes and rash guards, are all provided and included in every package. Bringing your own board? There's safe storage at camp.
DO I NEED TO BE A STRONG SWIMMER?
You should be comfortable in open water and able to swim, but you don't need to be an athlete. Beginner spots are waist-to-chest deep, coaches are always nearby, and your board doubles as a flotation aid.
WHEN IS THE BEST SEASON TO SURF LOMBOK?
Gerupuk works year-round because it holds waves on almost any wind. The dry season (May–October) is the most consistent, while the wet season brings smaller, glassy days that beginners love. There's a break for every swell and skill level.
IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT?
Our standard camps are aimed at adults 16+. We happily welcome younger surfers travelling with a parent or guardian — just let us know their age and experience so we can plan the right sessions.

STAY & MEALS
WHAT ARE THE ROOM OPTIONS?
Three tiers: a social dormitory, shared twin rooms, and private rooms for couples or those who want their own space. All are steps from the surf and share a communal deck. Compare them on the accommodation section.
WHICH MEALS ARE INCLUDED?
Daily breakfast is included every morning, plus a welcome dinner on your first night and a farewell feast to close out the trip. Lunch and other dinners are on you — there are warungs and cafés a short stroll from camp.
CAN YOU CATER TO DIETARY NEEDS?
Yes. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are easy to arrange — just flag any allergies or preferences when you book so the kitchen can plan ahead.
IS THERE WI-FI AND LAUNDRY?
There's Wi-Fi in the communal areas — solid for messaging and browsing, if a little island-paced. Affordable laundry can be arranged locally and usually comes back same-day.
WHAT'S THERE TO DO ON A NON-SURF DAY?
Plenty. The crew runs optional trips to waterfalls, snorkelling spots and hilltop viewpoints, plus yoga, skate sessions and beach bonfires. Or just hang in the hammock — rest days are part of the plan.

GETTING THERE
WHICH AIRPORT SHOULD I FLY INTO?
Fly into Lombok International Airport (LOP). It's roughly a 45–60 minute drive to camp in Gerupuk, with easy connections from Bali, Jakarta and other regional hubs.
ARE AIRPORT TRANSFERS INCLUDED?
Yes — return transfers between LOP and camp are included in every package. Share your flight details after booking and a driver will be waiting with a Local Surf Crew sign on arrival.
DO I NEED A VISA FOR INDONESIA?
Many nationalities can get a visa on arrival or an e-VOA for short stays, but rules change often. Always check the latest requirements with your local Indonesian embassy or the official immigration site before you travel.
CAN YOU HELP WITH FERRIES FROM BALI?
Sure. If you'd rather arrive by fast boat from Bali, we can point you to trusted operators and arrange a pick-up from the harbour. Just tell us your plan when you book.

BEFORE YOU GO
WHAT SHOULD I PACK?
Swimwear, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, a light towel, flip-flops and a refillable water bottle. Boards, leashes and rash guards are provided. Pack light — the vibe is barefoot and casual.
DO I NEED TRAVEL INSURANCE?
We strongly recommend it. Choose a policy that covers surfing and watersports as well as the usual travel and medical cover. It's inexpensive peace of mind for an active trip.
HOW SAFE IS THE SURF FOR BEGINNERS?
Very. We match every session to the day's conditions and your level, coaches carry first-aid training, and beginner spots are sandy-bottomed and mellow. Safety briefings happen before every paddle-out.
WHAT CURRENCY AND BUDGET DO I NEED?
Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) is king. Bring some cash for meals, laundry and trips, since ATMs in the village are limited. A modest daily budget covers lunches, drinks and a few extras comfortably.
STILL WONDERING?
